Michelle Tran takes photographs that are human. She connects naturally with her subjects and her surroundings, revealing vivid personalities and moments that might pass us by. On set she’s regarded for her verve and versatility, capturing vignettes of life, not in its entirety but in its purest instant. Her career has covered high profile portraiture, documentary storytelling, editorial collaborations and large scale advertising campaigns across 15 years. Born in Melbourne to Vietnamese refugee parents, her artistic practice developed from portraiture through a documentary lens, exploring cultural identity.
